PIC’s 2025‑28 SAICA CA Trainee Programme: Accelerate Your Accounting Career in Investment 🚀

Public Investment Corporation (PIC) invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for their Chartered Accountant Trainee vacancies. The closing date for applications is the 20 October 2025.
Why a Chartered Accountant Trainee role at PIC is a great start
PIC runs one of South Africa’s biggest investment portfolios, managing billions of rands that help businesses grow and keep the economy moving.
If you finish your accounting theory course (CTA) and want real‑world experience, PIC’s trainee program puts you right in the middle of that action.
- Hands‑on learning: You’ll move through several departments—finance, risk, portfolio management—and see how each part of the firm works.
- Mentors who care: Every trainee is paired with a senior accountant who checks your progress, answers questions, and helps you shape your career.
- Step‑by‑step route to qualification: PIC follows the SAICA CA 2025 competency framework, so every task you do is a step toward becoming a Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)).
- Support for your growth: From soft‑skill workshops to leadership training, PIC makes sure you’re ready for more responsibility when you finish.
Who should apply?
PIC is looking for young people who:
- Have or are completing a CTA – you must finish your CTA by the end of 2025.
- Are ready to sit for the Initial Assessment of Competence (IAC) in January 2026.
- Show independence and a willingness to learn – you drive your own progress.
- Really want to become a Chartered Accountant – this role is not for hobbyists.
The program has three trainee slots, so you’ll have a good chance to stand out if you apply early.

How PIC fits into the bigger picture
PIC isn’t just a job—it’s a path into one of South Africa’s top financial institutions.
