Volkswagen Group South Africa invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for their Learnership and Technical Apprenticeship Programme vacancies. The closing date for applications is the 04 November 2025.

Volkswagen Group South Africa (VWSA) is looking for bright, driven young South Africans who want to start a real career in the world of cars, factories, and high‑tech machines. The company, together with the Technical Learning Academy (TLA) and UNIONS, offers a full‑time training plan that turns you into an expert in a hands‑on job. You’ll learn inside VWSA’s state‑of‑the‑art facilities and on real machines.


What the Programme Covers

The learnership is split into several apprentice fields. Pick the ones that tickle your curiosity:

Each field gives you both hands‑on practice and theoretical classroom learning. By the end, you’ll be ready to work in automotive or manufacturing plants around South Africa.


Who Can Enter?

You need a school qualification that shows you can handle maths and science.

  • Matric (Grade 12) – you must have passed core maths and physical science (no maths literacy).
  • N3 Certificate – you need at least four subjects, including core maths and physical science, or a higher qualification.

If the documents are older than three months, they won’t count.


What the Company Looks For in a Candidate

  1. Interview – you’ll sit down with a panel and talk about why you’re excited for this job.
  2. Choice of Field – you must pick a first choice and a second choice – the field you want most and then the one you’d still like to learn.
  3. Part‑time Study – you’ll study while training, but you won’t be asked to work extra hours unless the boss specifically says so.
  4. Current Employees – if you’re already a VW employee, give your job title and SAP number.

⚡️ Shortcut: Employees who have already done a VW learnership don’t have to re‑apply. If you finish, you’ll go straight into a full‑time production role.


What You Need to Submit

All documents must be certified copies (official copies stamped by a certifier) and less than three months old.

  1. ID Copy – South African ID.
  2. School/College Qualification – the highest level you finished.
  3. Motivational Letter – tell us why you want this learnership and which field excites you the most.
  4. Phone Numbers – list a current mobile number and one extra backup contact.
