The South African National Parks (SANParks) invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for their Skilled Environmental Monitor vacancies. The closing date for applications is 14 November 2025.
What the job is about
SANParks is looking for two dedicated Environmental Monitors to work at Groenkloof National Park. This is a fixed‑term contract that will run until 31 March 2026. Every day you’ll help keep the park clean, safe and ready for visitors.
- Daily pay: R311.00 per day (EPWP rates)
- Location: Groenkloof National Park, South Africa
Who we’re looking for
You only need a high‑school pass to start. If you can read the list below, you could be the one we need:
- Finished Grade 12 (high‑school diploma)
- 1‑2 years of cleaning or housekeeping experience
- Experience with inventory or stock‑taking duties
- Basic first‑aid knowledge and an understanding of Occupational Health & Safety (OHS)
- Good personal hygiene and tidy appearance
- Punctual, responsible, and able to stay calm when things get busy
- Able to follow safety rules and guidelines
Your daily tasks
The job isn’t just about sweeping the ground – here’s what you’ll do every day:
- Clean offices, bathrooms, reception areas and walkways
- Set up meeting rooms and provide refreshments for visitors or staff
- Spot and report any problems (e.g., broken equipment) and help fix them
- Manage lost‑and‑found items following the proper procedure
- Empty waste bins and take trash to the designated collection sites
- Keep track of cleaning supplies and restock when they run low
- Maintain high cleanliness standards at all times
- Follow any emergency or shift change schedules requested by the supervisor
- Support other tasks or projects that your supervisor needs help with
