What the Bursary Actually Pays For

  • TVET College Learners – Up to R25,000 a year (VAT included) for certificate courses at DHET‑registered TVET colleges.
  • University / University of Technology Learners – Up to R45,000 a year (VAT included) for undergraduate diplomas or degrees at accredited universities.

Only tuition fees are covered.
Post‑graduate studies (Honours, Masters, PhDs) are not funded.
If you were funded in a previous year, you must send your latest grades and a statement of any unpaid tuition.


Who Is Eligible?

  1. Connected to the private security sector
    • You are a registered security officer working for a private security company, or
    • You are the legal child of a registered security officer.
  2. Citizenship – Both you and the registered officer must be South African citizens.
  3. Age – 19 to 35 years old.
  4. Education – Finished Grade 12 (Matric) and accepted or enrolled for 2026 at a DHET‑registered institution.
  5. Location – All South African provinces are welcome.
