Who Qualifies?

  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • Must live inside the Ga‑Segonyana Local Municipality.
  • Age between 18 and 35 years.
  • Be a matric graduate who meets the minimum university entry score, or be a first, second, or final‑year university student.
  • Must not already receive a bursary, scholarship, or student loan.
  • Must be from a historically disadvantaged group and financially in need.

    • For science subjects: at least 60‑69% in Maths and Physical Science (Level 5).
    • For other subjects: a minimum of 60% average in Grade 12.
    • Students who fail to get promoted to the next level will not be considered.
  2. Equity & Need
    • Preference goes to those who have faced past disadvantages.
    • Applicants must satisfy a means‑test showing financial need.
  3. University Rules
    Only public universities and public universities of technology are acceptable – private schools are not.
