  • Ambulance Emergency Assistant (AEA) qualification.

Driving

  • Unendorsed C1 licence plus a PrDP for patient transport.

Other Skills

  • Able to write a test and pass a driving test.
  • Good at talking to patients and teammates.
  • Understand basic EMS and rescue work.
  • Know Intermediate Life Support (ILS) rules.
  • Comfortable working in different settings: ambulance, obstetric ambulance, call centre, or patient transport.
  • Strong physical and mental stamina for shift work.

  • Answer calls from the EMS communication centre.
  • Keep clinical work sharp and meet continuing professional development (CPD) requirements.

  • Keep ambulances and stations clean and ready.
  • Refill gases and medical items.
  • Finish shift paperwork and hand over a tidy, well‑supplied ambulance to the next team.
  • Take part in quality checks and training.
  • Work flexible hours: shifts, weekends, and holidays.
