What You Need to Qualify

Basic Requirements

  • South African citizen
  • No criminal record or pending case
  • Speak at least two official languages (one must be English)
  • Ready for a background check and fingerprint test
  • Willing to work shifts, weekends and holidays

Education & Skills

  • Finished Grade 10 (NQF 3)
  • PSIRA registration (private security industry)
  • Grade C Security certificate or higher
  • Must be fit to use a firearm and ready to keep that skill

What You’ll Do on the Job

  1. Keep Doors Open, But Check ID First

    • Verify visitor ID, appointments and collect visitor cards.
  2. Search & Check

    • Look at people, packages and equipment entering the area to make sure nothing dangerous gets in or out.
  3. Patrol & Watch

    • Walk around buildings, fences and restricted areas to spot anything unusual and report it.
  4. Report & Fix

    • Tell higher‑up staff about any security problems and make sure incidents are recorded properly.

The job is hands‑on and requires good observation, honesty and a strong sense of duty.
