What is this program?

Valterra Platinum is looking for young people in South Africa to join the Engineering Learnership Programme (18.2 – Unemployed).
The program is based at the Amandelbult Mine in Thabazimbi, Limpopo and gives you real, hands‑on training in a mining environment.
You will learn a trade that can lead to a steady, well‑paid career for years to come.


Trades you can choose

You can pick one of these seven trades. Each trade has a different focus and career path.

Minimum requirements

You need to meet at least one of the following options:

Option A – Matric (High School diploma)

  • Pass Mathematics (not just Mathematical Literacy)
  • Pass Physical Science
  • Pass English
  • All subjects at least 40 %

Option B – N2 or higher

  • Pass Mathematics, Engineering Science and all four other subjects
  • Also need the trade‑specific subjects listed below

Option C – NCV Level 4 in the right trade

  • Pass all required subjects with a minimum of 40 %

Documents you must send

  1. Updated CV – clear and professional.
  2. Certified copies of all qualifications – school certificates, trade certificates, etc.
  3. Certified copy of your South‑African ID.
  4. Proof of residence (for host‑community applicants) – must have a stamp from the local tribal office or municipality.
