Joe Gqabi Temporary Cleaners Programme 2026: How to Apply
If you live in the Eastern Cape and have Grade 9, the Joe Gqabi District Municipality Temporary Cleaners Programme 2026 gives you a chance at government work. The closing date is 08 May 2026.
The municipality is building a list of temporary cleaners. You may be called for short cleaning jobs when they need extra help in different towns.
What the Opportunity Is
This is a temporary relief cleaner pool. You can work up to 3 months at a time for up to 12 months. Positions are available in Burgersdorp, Ventersdorp, Steynsburg, Maletswai, James Calata, Lady Grey, Sterkspruit, Barkly East, Ugie, Nqanqarhu and Tlokoeng.
Who Can Apply
You need Grade 9 or equivalent. You must be able to understand instructions, work on your own, and speak at least one language well. No experience is needed. This makes it open to many people without matric.
What You Gain
You earn R10 616 per month while working. You get government experience, learn municipal cleaning and venue work, and become more likely to get future jobs. This can help you build a work record.
How to Apply
Download the Joe Gqabi District Municipality Application Form. Send your completed form, CV, certified ID copy and qualifications to recruitment@jgdm.gov.za or hand deliver to any billing office. Use reference Notice No: 45/2026.
Tips to Improve Your Chances
Many people get disqualified for using the wrong form. Use only the official Joe Gqabi form — not Z83. Show any cleaning or community work on your CV. Certify your documents correctly and apply before the deadline.
Next Steps
This is a good starting point for municipal work. Prepare your documents today and submit before 08 May 2026. Even short assignments can open more doors. Take this chance to gain experience.
