SANRAL Scholarship 2027 – Eligibility, Requirements & Deadline 30 Sep 2026

Many South African families are feeling the pressure of school fees, uniforms, transport and other costs. The SANRAL Scholarship Programme for 2027 could help relieve that burden right now.

What is the SANRAL Scholarship Programme 2027?

The South African National Roads Agency (SANRAL) is offering a scholarship that supports learners from Grade 8 to Grade 12. It pays for school‑related expenses so students can focus on learning, not on money worries. The programme is open to all subjects and encourages applications from learners with disabilities.

Who can apply?

To be eligible you must:

  • Be a South African citizen.
  • Be enrolled at a recognised South African school.
  • Be entering or progressing in Grades 8‑12.
  • Have an average of at least 60 % in your most recent results.
  • Come from a household that earns less than R550 000 per year.
  • Submit a complete online application before the deadline.

Applicants with disabilities are especially welcome.

What will you receive?

If you are successful, SANRAL may cover:

  • School tuition fees.
  • Boarding fees (where applicable).

  • School registration costs.
  • Access to SANRAL’s Wellness Programme, including extra lessons in Mathematics and Science.

  • Recommendation letter from your school.
  • Certified copies of June academic results, your ID or birth certificate, and your parent/guardian’s IDs.

  4. Complete the online application form on the SANRAL portal.
  5. Upload all documents as PDF files.
  6. Send the completed application to scholarships@nra.co.za.

Application period: 1 June 2026 – 30 September 2026. Apply early to avoid last‑minute problems.

Tips to improve your chances

  • Show concrete examples of academic achievement and community involvement.
  • Explain clearly how the scholarship will solve a specific financial problem.
  • Keep your letters under the recommended length.
  • Make sure all certificates are signed and dated within three months.
  • Submit before the deadline; late applications are not considered.

Next steps

Start preparing your documents now. The competition is strong, and only successful applicants will be contacted. If you have not heard back by 31 January 2027, you can assume your application was not successful.

Take this opportunity to lessen the financial strain on your family and keep your education on track. Good luck!
