SACE Internship Programme 2026 – 18‑Month Roles, Apply by 07 July

Graduating this year but still looking for real work experience? The South African Council for Educators (SACE) has just opened its 2026 Internship Programme – and the deadline is only a few weeks away.

What is the programme?

SACE is offering an 18‑month paid internship for unemployed graduates and students who need practical training to finish their qualifications. Interns will work in a professional environment and receive a monthly stipend.

Who can apply?

  • South African citizens only
  • Unemployed graduates or students who need experiential training
  • 35 years of age or younger
  • Never taken part in any internship before
  • Must have the relevant NQF qualification for the chosen role

What you will earn

  • NQF Level 6 – R5 000 per month
  • NQF Level 7 – R6 500 per month
  • NQF Level 8 – R7 500 per month

Internship locations and roles

Positions are available at SACE’s head office in Centurion and in provincial offices across the country.

  1. Communication Intern

    Location: Head Office, Centurion

    Reference: COMMS001

    Posts: 1

    Required qualification: Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) in Digital Communications, Media Studies, Communications, Journalism or Public Relations.

  2. Registration Intern

    Locations: Limpopo, KwaZulu‑Natal, Eastern Cape, Free State, Head Office (Centurion)

    Reference numbers: REG/LIM002, REG/KZN002, REG/EC002, REG/FS002, REG/HO002

    Posts: 2 per location

    Required qualification: Bachelor of Administration, Diploma in Management Assistant, Office Management or Public Management (NQF 6).

  3. Legal and Ethics Intern

    Location: Head Office, Centurion

    Reference: LEGAL0003

    Posts: 2

    Required qualification: LLB, BA Law or Diploma in Paralegal Studies (NQF 8 or NQF 7 for Paralegal).

  4. Finance – Revenue Intern

    Location: Head Office, Centurion

    Reference: FINREV0004

    Posts: 1

    Required qualification: Diploma or degree in Accounting (NQF 6 or NQF 7).

  5. Finance – Bookkeeping Intern

    Location: Head Office, Centurion

    Reference: BOOK0005

    Posts: 1

    Required qualification: Same as Revenue Intern.

  6. Finance – Supply Chain Management Intern

    Location: Head Office, Centurion

    Reference: FINSCM0004

    Posts: 2

    Required qualification: Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related field (NQF 6).

  7. Human Resources Intern

    Location: Head Office, Centurion

    Reference: HR0005

    Posts: 1

    Required qualification: Diploma or degree in Human Resource Management, Labour Relations or Training & Development.

  8. PMERR Intern (Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation)

    Location: Head Office, Centurion

    Reference: PMERR0006

    Posts: 2

    Required qualification: Development Studies, Development Planning, Public Administration, Operations Management or Public Management (NQF 6).

  9. Internal Audit Intern

    Location: Head Office, Centurion

    Reference: INTAUD007

    Posts: 1

    Required qualification: Internal Auditing or Risk Management (NQF 6 or NQF 7).

  10. ICT Intern

    Location: Head Office, Centurion

    Reference: ICT008

    Posts: 1

    Required qualification: Diploma or degree in Information Technology.

  11. Professional Development Intern

    Location: Head Office, Centurion

    Reference: PD009

    Posts: 2

    Required qualification: Bachelor of Administration, Management Assistant, Office Management or Public Management (NQF 6).

General eligibility checklist

  • South African citizen
  • Age 35 or younger
  • Currently unemployed
  • Completed the qualification for the role
  • No previous internship experience
  • Willing to sign an 18‑month contract

Documents you must submit

  • Completed SACE Employment Application Form (download here)
  • Full Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Certified copy of your South African ID
  • Certified copies of your qualifications
  • Any additional academic records, if relevant

Make sure the certificates are not older than six months and that the information on the form matches your CV.

How to apply – step by step

  1. Download the application form and fill it in completely.
  2. Gather all required supporting documents.
  3. Write the correct reference number for the position you want on the form and on your email subject line.
  4. Send your application to recruitment@sace.org.za (use the reference number as the subject).
  5. Alternatively, you may hand‑deliver or courier the package to:

Applications received after 07 July 2026 will not be considered.
