W&RSETA Intern – Marketing & Business Management, closes 10 July 2026
Many young South Africans finish school or TVET but still lack any real work experience. That gap makes it hard to get a job, especially now when employers expect practical skills. The Wholesale and Retail Sector Education and Training Authority (W&RSETA) together with Sekhukhune TVET College has opened an 18‑month internship that could give you the experience you need before the July deadline.
What the internship is
This is a paid (or stipend‑based) 18‑month placement in recognised retail stores, mainly Vodacom and TFG outlets. The programme is run by W&RSETA and Sekhukhune TVET College and is aimed at unemployed youth who want a foothold in marketing or business management.
Who can apply
- South African citizen, under 35 years old.
- Completed one of the following qualifications:
- Matric
- NCV Level 2–4
- N4–N6 (12 subjects completed)
- Qualification must be in Marketing Management or Business Management.
- First‑time internship seekers or graduates who have not yet completed an experiential training programme.
- Persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
What you will gain
The internship gives you hands‑on experience that cannot be taught in a classroom.
- Customer service: dealing with clients, handling complaints, building relationships.
- Sales skills: product promotion, selling techniques, visual merchandising.
- Business administration: filing, record keeping, retail reporting.
- Communication: professional email, teamwork, workplace etiquette, time management.
- Retail operations: stock control, point‑of‑sale systems, daily store management.
These skills are highly transferable and improve your employability in many sectors.

- Prepare a clear, professional CV that highlights any related coursework or volunteer work.
