What the vacancy includes

The bulletin lists vacant Deputy Principal and HOD posts in every district of the province. These are permanent posts in public schools, offering a chance to move into senior school leadership.

Who can apply

You must be a qualified educator registered with the South African Council for Educators (SACE) or have proof of a pending registration. You also need a recognised teaching qualification and a valid South African ID.

The position is a clear step up the career ladder, with higher salary scales and greater responsibility.

How to apply – step by step

  1. Obtain the Educator Employment Profile (EDP 01) form. You can photocopy it from the bulletin or collect additional copies at any District Office.

    • Certified copy of your South African ID.
    • Certified copies of all academic qualifications, including any teacher‑training certificates.
    • Certified copy of your SACE registration certificate or proof of application.

  5. Clearly write the post number, school name and the district on each form.
  6. Submit each completed form with its supporting documents to the relevant District Office – applications are not accepted centrally.
  7. Keep a copy of every submission for your records.
