Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this opportunity, applicants must have:

  • A qualification at NQF Level 02, as recognized by SAQA.
  • A willingness to perform cleaning duties and maintain hygiene standards in government offices.

What You’ll Be Doing

If you are selected for this position, your role as a Cleaner will include a wide range of daily cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a clean, healthy, and welcoming work environment.

Office & Facility Cleaning Tasks:

  • Cleaning corridors, elevators, and meeting rooms.
  • Dusting and polishing desks, chairs, and other furniture.
  • Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and waxing floors.
  • Vacuuming carpets and keeping them clean.
  • Washing walls, windows, and doors to maintain cleanliness.
  • Emptying and sanitizing waste bins regularly.
  • Collecting waste papers and disposing of them properly.
  • Making sure office spaces smell fresh and are neat at all times.

Kitchen & Restroom Cleaning Duties:

  • Cleaning sinks, basins, and kitchen utensils after use.
  • Replenishing supplies such as soap, towels, and air fresheners.
  • Maintaining stock of cleaning materials to avoid shortages.
  • Ensuring that restrooms are always clean and comfortable for use.
  • Emptying waste bins and washing them thoroughly.

Equipment & Material Care:

  • Using cleaning equipment like vacuum cleaners and mops responsibly.
  • Reporting damaged equipment and requesting repairs when needed.
  • Cleaning microwaves and other shared appliances.
  • Storing cleaning materials safely after every use.
