What Is the Youth Mass Skilling Programme?

The Alfred Duma Local Municipality in Ladysmith, KwaZulu‑Natal, has rolled out a 12‑month training program for young people who have finished their university or college studies but don’t have a job yet. The goal is simple: give you real‑world work experience in a city department, teach you useful skills, and help you land a job when the program ends.

You’ll work every weekday, from Monday to Friday, just like a normal office job. That means you’ll learn how a local government runs, meet professionals who could become mentors, and build confidence that will show on any future resume.

How to Apply

Gather these three things:

  1. A clear CV – List your education, any projects, and any work or volunteer experiences.
  2. A cover letter – Write it and put the words “UNEMPLOYED GRADUATES” on the first line.
  3. Proof of qualification – A certified copy of your degree, diploma, or N6 certificate.
