Minimum Qualifications
To be eligible you must:
- Hold a Grade 12 (matric) certificate.
- Have a valid Code 10 driver’s licence.

- At least three years of bus or learner transport experience is helpful but not required.

What Will You Do?
A driver in this role does more than just drive:
Learner Transport
- Safely pick up and drop off students.
- Help students get on and off the vehicle.
- Keep an eye on students while they’re traveling.
Safety & Rules
- Inspect the vehicle every day.
- Follow traffic laws and the Department’s safety rules.
- Take part in safety drills and write reports.
Messenger and Support
- Deliver and pick up school documents.
- Carry supplies for the school.
- Take students to clinics or hospitals if needed.
- Keep logs of trips, fuel usage and mileage.
