Eskom’s 2025‑2027 Non‑Technical Contact Centre Internship: Start Your Energy Career Today

Eskom invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for their Non‑Technical Internship Programme vacancies. The closing date for applications is the 17 October 2025.
What the Internship Looks Like
Eskom, South Africa’s biggest energy company, wants fresh talent to join its team in Polokwane (or nearby Pietersburg). This internship gives you hands‑on experience working in a contact centre that helps customers, backs up business operations, and makes sure things run smoothly.
You’ll be part of the LimLanga Cluster and help with:
- Handling calls from customers who need help or have questions.
- Doing back‑office work, such as making sure special requests go to the right people and following up on them.
- Helping with marketing and sales by sending out emails, brochures, or making short phone calls.
- Managing vending machines, prepaid services, and EasyPay – things that customers use every day.
- Looking for ways to improve the service so customers stay happy.
Five spots are available, so it’s a pretty competitive but exciting chance to learn real‑world skills.
What You’ll Learn
During the internship you’ll build skills that are valuable for any job:
Skill | What You’ll Do |
---|---|
Customer service | Talk to customers, solve their problems, and make them feel valued. |
Phone and communication skills | Answer calls, write clear emails, and keep notes about each customer. |
Planning and time management | Decide which tasks to tackle first, and keep track of deadlines. |
Computer skills | Use Eskom’s software to log calls, process requests, and run reports. |
Stress management | Stay calm when the phone rings fast and customers are upset. |
These skills are not only useful at Eskom but also for careers in business, tech, or any customer‑facing role.
