What the Internship Programme Is All About
The Free State Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation is launching a 24‑month internship scheme that gives fresh graduates a chance to learn real‑world work skills. If you’ve finished high school or university and want a paid role that helps you grow, this could be the perfect step.

Important Rules for All Applicants
- The scheme is only for people who are entering the public service for the first time.
- You must not have worked as an intern or contract staff in any public or private job before.
- If you win, you’ll sign a 24‑month contract with the department.
- Send a separate application for each reference number.
- Shortlisted candidates will go through a background check: qualifications, security, citizenship and previous work verification.
- If you haven’t heard back within four months after the closing date, your application will be considered unsuccessful.
