How to Register for Limpopo DoE Unemployed Educators Database (Free)

Finding a teaching job in Limpopo’s public schools can be tough, but the Limpopo Department of Education has opened a free registration system that puts qualified, unemployed teachers straight on the department’s recruitment database – a simple way to be seen when schools need staff urgently.

What is the Unemployed Educators Recruitment Database?

The department keeps a list of teachers who are qualified, SACE‑registered and looking for work. Schools and district offices draw from this list for:

  • Temporary teaching assignments
  • Substitute positions
  • Contract appointments
  • Permanent posts

Being on the list does not guarantee a job, but it makes you one of the first candidates schools contact when a vacancy appears.

Who can register?

You may apply if you meet all of the following:

  • Hold a recognised teaching qualification
  • Are registered with the South African Council for Educators (SACE)
  • Are a South African citizen or permanent resident
  • Are currently unemployed or seeking a teaching post
  • Can provide the required supporting documents

Remember, no educator can be appointed in a public school without a valid SACE registration.

What you gain

Being in the database can speed up the time between a vacancy and an interview. Schools often need staff on short notice because of resignations, retirements, maternity or long‑term sick leave, increased learner numbers, or newly approved posts. Your details being ready means you could be called within days rather than weeks.

How to apply – step by step

  1. Collect the documents – Certified copies of:
    • South African ID
    • Updated CV
    • Teaching qualification certificates
    • Academic transcripts
    • SACE registration certificate
    • Proof of residence
    • SAQA evaluation (if you hold a foreign qualification)
    • Any extra certificates or licences
  2. Download the registration form – Obtain the “Unemployed Educator Registration Form” from your nearest district office or the department’s website and fill it in completely.
  3. Arrange the paperwork – Put the items in this order:
    1. Completed application form
    2. CV
    3. ID copy
    4. Qualification certificates
    5. Transcripts
    6. SACE certificate
    7. Additional supporting documents
  4. Submit in person – Hand‑deliver the packet to the district office where you wish to be considered (see contact details below).
  5. Keep a copy – Store a set of all documents for your records and future applications.
