Kumkani Mhlontlo Local Municipality Invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for their Finance Internship vacancies.

What’s on Offer?

The Kumkani Mhlontlo Local Municipality in the Eastern Cape is looking for bright, fresh‑graduate students who want to dive into the world of finance, economics and public administration.
There are three (3) open spots for a Finance Internship Programme that will last for three years. Each intern will earn between R90,000 and R100,000 a year and work in the municipality’s Budget and Treasury Office.

What You’ll Do

If you’re selected, you’ll help the city with:

  1. Budgeting – creating and updating the city’s financial plans.
  2. Budget Monitoring – checking that spending and income match the approved plans.
  3. Asset Management – keeping track of municipal equipment and property.

You’ll get a full view of how a city’s money is managed, a skill set that many employers look for.

  1. A full application letter and a certified CV.
  2. A copy of your ID.
  3. A valid driver’s licence (if you have one).

Important points

  • Late, faxed, or emailed applications won’t be accepted.
  • Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
  • If you do not hear back in three months, your application was not successful.
  • The municipality may choose not to fill the advertised position.
  • Do not try to “canvass” for the job; it will not help.
  • All applicants must disclose if they are currently working for the state.
