Who Runs This Program?
The DPME is one of South Africa’s most important government departments. Its main aim is simple: make sure the government runs smoothly, keeps its promises, and improves everyone’s quality of life. The department watches how services are delivered, checks how national programmes work, and shares evidence‑based advice so that government can get better.
This internship is a launchpad for future leaders in policy, planning, and public service.

- Real Government Work – Help monitor public services and evaluate how programmes are performing.
- Learn Evidence‑Based Policy – See how national projects are studied, improved, and held accountable.
- Build Admin Skills – Practice planning, tracking progress, writing reports, and talking with stakeholders.
- Earn a Stipend – Receive R7 860.50 each month so you can focus on learning.
- Long‑Term Training – Two full years of hands‑on experience, not a quick summer job.
