What is this Learnership?

If you love fashion, trends, and making store displays that grab people’s attention, this is a great way to start a career in retail. Pick n Pay Clothing, one of South Africa’s biggest clothing retailers, is looking for energetic, creative young people who want to learn how to make shop windows shine and shelves look amazing.

This is a 12‑month paid training program. You’ll get paid and learn from experienced employees while you work in real stores. By the end of the program you’ll have a certificate that shows you know about visual merchandising and retail operations.

  4. Inventory management – Tracking stock, restocking, and spotting trends.
  5. Visual merchandising tools – Using software and creative materials to design attractive displays.
  6. Retail best practices – Understanding security, cash handling, and store policies.

Who can apply?

  • South African citizen between 18 and 35 years old.
  • High school graduate (Grade 12) with basic math and English skills.
  • Not currently employed or studying full‑time.
  • Motivated to learn and ready to finish the full 12 months.
  • Able to travel to a Johannesburg or Cape Town location for classes and on‑the‑job training.
  • Good communication skills, both speaking and writing.
  • Enjoys teamwork and paying attention to details.
  • Passionate about fashion and retail.
