Road Accident Fund (RAF) Wants 20 Medical Management Consultants for 2025 – Boost Your Career in Health Care

RAF invites suitable applicants to apply for its Medical Management Consultant vacancies. The closing date for applications is 15th October 2025.
Position – Medical Management Consultant
Job type – 3‑year fixed‑term contract
What We’re Looking For
- A bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma in Health Sciences or a related medical field.
- Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) or the South African Nursing Council (SANCA).
- About three years of experience working in a medical or health‑care setting.
Your Responsibilities
Medical Management
- Carry out medical assessments and write injury reports.
- Review submitted claims to make sure the care level, stay length, and quality match the needs.
- Use tariffs, cost‑saving measures, and treatment protocols so every provider follows the rules and keeps costs reasonable.
- Approve claims before payment, following RAF clinical guidelines and tariffs.
- Pass complicated cases to a multi‑disciplinary team for review.
- Join consultation meetings to shape how medical claims are processed.
Reporting
- Track progress against goals and report on new risks.
- Create ad‑hoc reports for process improvements.
- Produce documents, briefing papers, and presentations for management.
Stakeholder Management
- Answer emails and letters promptly.
- Keep good relationships with all partners and clients.
- Recommend corrective actions and keep everyone updated.
- Meet turnaround times when answering queries.
Other Skills
- Claim processing and system knowledge.
- Medical product management.
- Bill reviewing and case management.
