Services SETA PowerX² Internships 2026 – 20 000 slots, closing 29 July

Graduates are racing against the clock to get work experience, and the deadline is fast approaching. The Services SETA has launched a massive internship drive that could be the missing link between your degree and a real job.

What is the PowerX² 20 000 Internships Programme?

The PowerX² Programme is a national effort to create 20 000 structured, paid internships that last 24 months. It connects unemployed graduates with South African employers who need fresh talent. The goal is to give you solid workplace exposure while helping companies grow their future workforce.

Who can apply?

  • Graduates of a public university or TVET college
  • Qualification at NQF Level 4 to 7
  • Unemployed at the time of application
  • Willing to commit to a full 24‑month internship

Previous funding from Services SETA does not affect your eligibility.

How to apply – step by step

  1. Submit your Expression of Interest: Complete the online form and choose “Graduate Expression of Interest”.
  2. After submitting, you will receive a reference number, a secure upload link and a list of required documents.
  3. Gather and certify the following documents before the deadline:
    • Copy of your ID (certified)
    • Qualification certificate or official transcript
    • Updated CV
    • Proof of residence
    • Bank confirmation letter
  4. Upload all documents using the link provided in your confirmation email.
  5. Wait for further communication from the Programme Management Unit. If you are shortlisted, you will be matched with a workplace based on employer needs and sector relevance.
