National and provincial government departments are hiring for roles that support supply‑chain, asset management, procurement, logistics, stores and general administration. Many of these posts are truly entry‑level – the advertised minimum is a Grade 12 certificate and no previous work experience.

You may apply if you have studied Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Financial Management, Public Management, Business Management or a related TVET programme (N4, N5 or N6). What about TVET N4, N5 and N6 applicants?
An N6 certificate is not automatically equal to a National Diploma (NQF Level 6). When a vacancy specifically asks for a National Diploma, you must hold that exact qualification. However, many clerk‑level posts only require Grade 12, so holding N4, N5 or N6 does not disqualify you.
Your TVET studies give you useful knowledge in purchasing, procurement, inventory, financial administration, cost management, office administration, entrepreneurship, computer practice, public administration and logistics.
Which jobs should you prioritise if you have no experience?
Look first for vacancies that state “No experience required” or list Grade 12 as the main entry requirement. Good examples are:
