Internship Fields & What You’ll Do

1. Chemical Engineering

  • Help run metal‑processing plants.
  • Take samples, run tests, and check quality.
  • Suggest ways to make chemical processes faster and cleaner.
    You need: A BSc, BEng or BTech in Chemical Engineering.

2. Communication

  • Support internal and external messages.
  • Write newsletters, post on social media, and help with campaigns.
  • Join in community events and stakeholder meetings.
    You need: A degree or diploma in Communication, Media, PR or Journalism.

3. Corporate Affairs & Sustainable Impact

  • Work on community projects and corporate social responsibility.
  • Keep track of sustainability reports.
    You need: A degree in Public Administration, Social Sciences, Development Studies or Sustainability Management.

4. Electrical Engineering

  • Maintain power systems and troubleshoot faults.
  • Take part in upgrades and new installations.
    You need: A BEng, BTech or BSc in Electrical Engineering.

5. Environmental Sciences / Management

  • Monitor the environment around the mine.
  • Assist with audits and write compliance reports.
    You need: A BSc in Environmental Science or Management.

6. Geology

  • Log core samples and map underground formations.
  • Help with mineral sampling and data analysis.
    You need: A BSc in Geology or Earth Sciences.

7. Information Management

  • Support data handling and analytics.

8. Mechanical Engineering

  • Record data and produce reports using surveying tools.

17. Ventilation

  • Help design and maintain ventilation systems.
    You need: A qualification in Ventilation, Environmental Health or Mine Engineering.

18. People & Organisation (HR)

  • Assist with hiring, onboarding and HR paperwork.
  • Help plan training programs.
  • Keep HR records and reports.
    You need: A degree or diploma in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology or a related area.

All Applicants Must

  • Be a South African citizen.
  • Hold a relevant Diploma or Degree.
  • Be between 18 and 35 years old.
  • Be unemployed and not already doing another internship.
