Gauteng Department of Economic Development & EASTC invite you to apply for their Clothing, Textile, Leather and Footwear (CTLF) Skills Training Programme.
The closing date for applications is 07 November 2025.


What’s This All About?

The Gauteng Department of Economic Development is teaming up with EASTC Technocentric Varsity to offer a 12‑month training program that will teach you how to make clothes, process fabrics, create leather items, and design shoes. The training is aimed at people in the City of Tshwane who are currently without a job and want to learn skills that can help them find work or start their own small business.

This is a chance to get hands‑on experience in a fast‑growing part of South Africa’s economy. You’ll learn the skills that factories and design studios need right now.


How the Programme Works

  • Duration: 12 months of practical training
  • Location: City of Tshwane
  • Focus Areas:
    • Clothing manufacturing – cutting, sewing, finishing
    • Textile processing – dyeing, printing, fabric treatment
    • Leather goods production – shaping, stitching, finishing leather items
    • Footwear design – designing and building shoes

During the year, you’ll work with real machines and learn from experienced professionals. At the end, you’ll have a solid portfolio and a recognised certificate that can boost your résumé.

  1. Gather Your Documents – All must be certified and not older than three months.

    • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
    • Copy of ID
    • Copy of any qualifications
    • Proof of residence

  3. Apply Before the Deadline – 07 November 2025 at 12 pm.

Note: The programme does not provide a stipend. However, the skills you gain can open doors to paid jobs or help you start a small business.
