What is the job?

The South African Department of Defence (DoD) is looking for clean‑up heroes to work on military bases all over the country. These are Level 2 government jobs that pay between R138 486 and R163 131 a year. If you have an ABET qualification and no previous job experience, you can still apply – it’s a perfect starter role.

Do you meet the basics?

  • ABET or equivalent
  • No experience required – perfect for students or people new to the workforce
  • Good English, simple maths, and the ability to read instructions

What will you do on a day‑to‑day basis?

  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust offices and rooms
  • Clean kitchens, bathrooms, and meeting areas
  • Wash windows, cutlery, and floors
  • Empty bins and keep buildings tidy
  • Take care of cleaning equipment
  • Point out any problems or damage to supervisors
