MRTT Building & Civil Construction Learnership 2026 – Apply by 15 June

If you are a young person in the Ehlanzeni District and need a job right now, a 12‑month learnership in construction is opening soon. It can give you a recognised qualification and a chance to start a career in building, carpentry or bricklaying. This opportunity is offered by Mpumalanga Regional Training Trust (MRTT) and will begin on 22 June 2026.

What the learnership is

The MRTT Building and Civil Construction Learnership Programme 2026 is a full‑time, accredited training course. It runs for twelve months at the Kabokweni Training Centre in Mpumalanga. Participants choose one of two trades – NQF Level 3 Carpentry or NQF Level 3 Bricklaying.

Who can apply

  • Age: 18 to 35 years
  • Resident of the Ehlanzeni District
  • Minimum education: Grade 11
  • Interest in the building and civil construction sector
  • Available for the whole 12‑month programme

What you will gain

On successful completion you will receive an NQF Level 3 qualification that is recognised by the construction industry. The training covers:

  • Carpentry: measuring, reading drawings, installing doors/windows, roof structures, timber framing, tool safety and site safety.
  • Bricklaying: brick and block laying, mixing mortar, reading plans, wall construction, site safety, material estimation and quality control.

These skills open doors to paid work as a carpenter assistant, bricklayer, construction site worker, building‑maintenance employee, or even to start your own small construction business.

How to apply (step‑by‑step)

  1. Gather the required documents:
    • Curriculum Vitae (CV)

Tips to improve your chances

  • Check that every document is clear and properly certified.

  • Keep a copy of everything you hand in, in case the department asks for it later.
  • Arrive early on the submission day to avoid queues.
  • Be honest about your qualifications and residence – false information leads to disqualification.

Next steps

Do not wait – the deadline is only a few weeks away. Collect your documents, write a brief cover letter, and deliver your application to the Social Service Department before 15 June 2026. After you are accepted, you will start training on 22 June 2026 at Kabokweni.
