About ACRA

ACRA is a well‑known school that teaches people how to fix and maintain air‑conditioners, refrigerators and other cooling machines. It is officially recognised by QCTO, NAMB, DHET, and SARACCA, so the certificates you earn will be accepted by employers all over South Africa. Students get a mix of classroom lessons, hands‑on workshop work and real‑world experience at partner businesses.

What the Apprenticeship Looks Like

  • Theories in the Classroom – Learn how cooling systems work, electrical circuits, safety rules, and more.
  • Hands‑On Workshops – Build and repair HVAC units on real equipment.
  • Workplace Learning – Spend time at a local shop or company, getting real experience under a senior technician’s guidance.
  • Locations – Pick the campus nearest to you: Kempton Park, Pinetown or Kimberley.

This is a full apprenticeship that will turn you into a certified Refrigeration and Air‑Conditioning Technician. Most similar programmes run about three years, so you can expect to work and learn for that long.
