City of Mbombela Invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for their Traffic Officer Learnership Programme vacancies. The closing date for applications is 3 November 2025.
Why this learnership is a great chance for you
The City of Mbombela, a Category 7 municipality in Mpumalanga Province, is looking for energetic young people who care about road safety and want to serve their community. This 12‑month Training Programme will teach you everything you need to know about traffic law, road safety and how to keep people safe on South Africa’s roads.
- You’ll learn under the National Road Traffic Act (Act 93 of 1996), so you’ll be fully qualified by the time you finish.
- The programme is part of the city’s effort to give local youth skills and jobs.
- While you’re learning, you’ll receive a monthly stipend of R6,500 to help cover your expenses.
What the programme covers
During the year you’ll do a mix of classroom lessons and hands‑on practice. You’ll learn how to:
- Enforce traffic rules and respond to incidents.
- Educate the public about road safety.
- Work with police, emergency services and the community to keep roads safe.
You’ll finish the learnership ready to take on a career as a traffic officer or related roles in public safety.
