What the internship offers
This is a single internship programme that accepts applicants from six different study‑field groupings. The application portal is the same for all fields, so you only need to submit one online form.

You must be a South African student who is near the end of a recognised qualification in one of the following areas:
- Human Capital (Human Resources)
- Law
- Economics
- Finance
- Supply Chain Management
- Communications – multimedia skills are preferred
Final‑year status or a compulsory work‑integrated learning component is usually required. Check that your programme aligns with the field you choose.

Field‑specific notes
Human Capital
If your diploma or degree is in HR or human capital, you can explore tasks such as recruitment support or staff development. The authority does not guarantee any specific HR duties.
Law
Law students nearing graduation can gain exposure to competition law, including issues like restrictive practices, market dominance and mergers. Use the Careers and Qualifications Explorer to see the broader legal career path.
Economics
Economics students will see how market structure, pricing and firm conduct are analysed in a regulatory setting. Specific analytical tasks are not assigned to each intern.
Finance
Finance learners may work on budgeting, financial reporting or internal controls within the authority’s corporate services. No explicit finance job description is promised.
Supply Chain Management
If your programme requires procurement or logistics work‑integrated learning, this field may be relevant. The advert does not detail a specific procurement role.
Communications – multimedia preferred
Applicants with multimedia abilities are favoured. Possible work includes digital content creation, information design, communication strategy and public‑facing media, but the exact duties are set by the authority.
Important: Information Technology was listed in an older intake, but it is not included in the new 30 October 2026 notice. Do not assume the fields are the same as previous rounds.
Next steps
Gather your documents, decide which study field fits you best, and apply through the official portal today. Even if competition is strong, a well‑prepared application can open the door to valuable experience.
