Construction OHS Intern – Western Cape, Apply by 16 Mar 2026
Hire Resolve, a leading construction consulting firm, is looking for suitable young people to apply for their Construction Occupational Health and Safety Intern opportunities. The closing date for applications is 16 March 2026.
What you’ll be doing every day
- Learn the ropes: shadow our OHS consultants on site and in the office, getting a first‑hand look at how safety rules keep workers safe.
- Administrative support: help with paperwork, upload reports, and keep track of safety documents.
- Site inspections: go on site with the team, noting hazards and checking that safety plans are followed.
- Report building: draft condition assessments and feasibility studies under supervision.
- Travel: hop on a bus or drive to different projects around the Western Cape – it’s a good way to see the country’s biggest builds.
- Flexible hours: be ready for occasional overtime or weekend visits; construction doesn’t always stick to 9‑5.
Why it’s a great start for beginners
- Hands‑on training: you’ll be learning real OHS procedures while you’re on the job.
- Build a résumé: add a professional internship that shows you’ve got the right skills for the construction industry.
- Career path: if you want to become a safety officer, this internship puts you on that track.
- Network: meet senior consultants and project managers who can become mentors or future employers.
Who can apply
- Age: 18‑25 (or anyone who’s a recent high‑school or university graduate).
- Education: a completed SA tertiary qualification in a related field, or an apprenticeship in construction, safety or a related trade.
- Certifications: SAMTRAC or an equivalent safety certificate; formal OHS training in construction.
- Language: fluent in Afrikaans (required) and comfortable with English.
- Tech skills: know how to use Word, Excel and Outlook.

- Health: in good health and able to work on site.
