What is the eThekwini Public Financial Management and Administration Learnership 2026
eThekwini Municipal Academy Public Financial Management and Administration Learnership Programme 2026 is a 12-month programme in the Meter Readings Division. You will work towards an NQF Level 5 qualification while gaining practical municipal experience in Durban.
Who can apply
You must meet all these requirements:
- Be a South African citizen
- Live in the eThekwini Municipality area and provide proof of residence
- Have Grade 12 with Mathematics or Accounting
- Hold a Code 8 or Code 10 driver’s licence
- Be aged 18 to 35 years
- Be currently unemployed
- Not have done a similar municipal learnership before
Shortlisted candidates may need to do assessments and medical screening.
What you will gain
You will learn public financial management, meter reading administration, revenue support, customer account work, reporting and compliance. The programme also builds important workplace skills like communication, teamwork and document handling.
