Limpopo LDARD Launches 135 Paid Agricultural Internships for 2026 – Apply Today

Limpopo Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (LDARD) invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for their Agricultural Placement Program vacancies.
The closing date for applications is 13 February 2026 at 16:00.

The LDARD has just published Vacancy Circular No. 03 of 2026 to place unemployed agricultural graduates in farms across Limpopo for the 2026/27 and 2027/28 financial years.
A total of 135 spots are available, giving fresh grads a chance to work on real farms and earn a monthly stipend of R7 860,50.

Who can Apply?

To be eligible you need:

  • At least Grade 12 and an NQF Level 6 qualification in an agriculture‑related field (or an equivalent SAQA recognised diploma or degree)
  • Be a Limpopo resident who has not yet taken a government internship or has a PERSAL number with less than 12 consecutive months of experience

The programme also aims to give:

  • 50 %‑55 % women a chance to join
  • 80 % of participants aged 18‑35
  • 20 % of graduates aged 36‑40 who are currently unemployed
  • 3 % of people living with disabilities

Other conditions:

  • No private studies during the two‑year placement
  • You must be ready to work irregular hours
  • Placement is matched to the district you live in, based on departmental needs

What You’ll Do

This is hands‑on work on a farm. Tasks include:

  • Help manage the farm and keep records
  • Check crops and animals for problems and treat them
  • Package and market produce, and find new markets
  • Assist with planning crops and livestock schedules
  • Help load and unload produce and supervise other workers

Stipend

While you learn, you’ll earn R7 860,50 every month.
