Andru Mining 2026 Blasting Assistant Learnership – Closing 09 July
Right now, mining companies are looking for young people from nearby communities to start hands‑on training. The Andru Mining Blasting Assistant Learnership 2026 gives you a chance to work at the Kalgold open‑pit mine and learn real skills in just four months.
What the opportunity is
Andru Mining is offering ten four‑month learnerships for Blasting Assistants at its Kalgold Operation. It is a short‑term programme, not a permanent job, but it can open doors to future mining work.
Who can apply – eligibility checklist
- South African citizen
- Matric (Grade 12) or an equivalent qualification
- Valid driver’s licence (required)
- Resident of the recognised local communities around Kalgold (will be verified)
- Clean criminal record
- Able to obtain a Red Ticket (Certificate of Fitness) after a medical exam
- Can pass the Dover Test (covers concentration, attention to detail and basic aptitude)
- Willing to work different shifts and perform physically demanding tasks
What you will gain
- Practical experience in mining safety and blasting support
- Understanding of mining operational processes
- Teamwork and communication skills on a real work site
- Experience of shift work and workplace discipline
- A recognised learnership certificate that strengthens your CV
How to apply – step‑by‑step
- Update your CV. Highlight your matric result, driver’s licence, any work experience and your willingness to work shifts.
- Gather the required documents:
- Certified copy of your ID
- Certified copy of your Grade 12 certificate
- Valid driver’s licence
- Any additional papers requested by the local tribal structures
- Submit your CV (no extra forms needed) to the Tribal Office that handles Andru Mining recruitment. Do not give your CV directly to any Andru Mining staff.
- Make sure the CV reaches the Tribal Office before 09 July 2026. Late submissions will not be accepted.
Tips to improve your chances
- Tailor your CV to the learnership. Mention “Matric”, “Driver’s licence”, “Red Ticket eligible” and “Shift work ready”.
- Practice basic maths and reading comprehension to feel confident for the Dover Test.
- Check that you can obtain a Red Ticket. If you have a health condition, arrange a medical check early.
- Ask a community leader or teacher to certify your copies of ID and certificates – it speeds up verification.
- Submit your application early. Waiting until the last day increases the risk of missed delivery.
- Never pay any fee. The process is free; if anyone asks for money, report it.
Next steps
If you meet the criteria, gather your documents and send your CV to the Tribal Office right away. Even if you are not selected, the experience of applying and the skills you learn during the four‑month period will be valuable for future mining or other technical jobs.
