Unemployment is a big problem for many South Africans who have finished Grade 12. If you need a job now, the iMas Short & Long Term Insurance Learnership Programme 2026 could change that – the deadline is 7 October 2026, and the allowance is R6 000 a month.
What the opportunity is
iMas Insurance Brokers, part of iMasFinance Co‑operative, is offering three learnerships in the insurance sector. You will work for 12 months, get paid, and earn an NQF Level 4 Insurance Qualification.

What you will gain
The learnership gives you three things at once:

You will also receive coaching, mentoring and on‑the‑job training in areas such as:

Tips to improve your chances
- Write a clear, honest cover letter that explains why you want to work in insurance.
- Proofread your application – spelling and grammar matter.
- Highlight any experience you have with sales, customer service, or office work, even if it was informal.
- Show that you are reliable and can work under pressure – give examples.
- Make sure your Matric results clearly show Maths or Accounting.
- Apply early; the portal may get busy close to the deadline.
Next steps
If you are accepted, you will sign a 12‑month fixed‑term contract, start earning R6 000 a month, and study for the NQF 4 qualification while you work. Think of this as the first rung on a ladder to a longer career in insurance, finance, or risk management.
While you wait for a response, you can explore other programmes offered by the Insurance Sector Education and Training Authority (INSETA) on the SETA SA website. Look at related qualifications, short courses, or further study options to keep your career momentum going.
